Re: Banshee is hard, even for HBO.
Banshee is very violent and sexually explicit, that's true, but it seems to be steering in a "gang of misfits pulls off jobs each week" direction, and is about a tough guy and his backup, who has to balance his inherently moral side with kicking some ass each week. They both remind me of 80s TV. ETA: I don't think the main character in either show is morally challenged, they both seem to have strong ideas of what they consider moral, and stick to them.

Oh. Odette Anabelle. Is there nothing she can't class up?

Re: Banshee is hard, even for HBO.
There's only so much of that sort of thing I can take, but there hasn't really been a full on mindless action show that wasn't watered down for US network TV or basic cable for a while, and The Transporter is definitely it, and has the benefit of being produced for European network TV, which is a lot more explicit.

Re: Banshee is hard, even for HBO.
Watching her kill things on Lost girl is way hotter than a couple moments of free dumpling exposure.
