A native of Toronto, Ontario, Katheryn Winnick began her movie career behind the camera, as a martial arts trainer for the stars (she earned dual black belts in tae kwon do and karate, and received her bodyguard license at an early age). Winnick soon parlayed her glamorous countenance into acting. Audiences first gained exposure to Winnick on television, with her involvement in such series as "PSI Factor," "Student Bodies," "Relic Hunter" and "Oz." Before moving to Los Angeles, she studied acting in New York City, and in 2003 she was selected from among thousands of young actors to be documented as one of the next ones to have "it" in Bravo’s series "The It Factor."

The HISTORY original series Vikings transports us to the brutal and mysterious world of Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), a Viking warrior and farmer who yearns to explore -- and raid -- the distant shores across the ocean. His ambition puts him at odds with local chieftain Earl Haraldson (Gabriel Byrne), who insists on sending his raiders to the impoverished east rather than the uncharted west. When Ragnar teams up with his boat builder friend Floki (Gustaf Skarsgard) to craft a new generation of intrepid ships capable of conquering the rough northern seas, the stage is set for conflict.

She first got my attention in the 90s when she was on Student Bodies and I like seeing her pop up in various shows and movies.



A few years ago, she put out some martial arts thing called Wintae. Here's a promo clip…

I totally forgot she was in Killers. I didn't like the movie. Funny how I'm seeing a lot of her martial artistry now. Almost everything I've seen her in has been a regular role that hasn't taken advantage of her skills.
