That is definitely the four-footer. You can see Ten Forward illuminated, and it's the right shape for the four-footer.

I wonder if it will replace the CG shot in The Inner Light.

I don't know if many noticed, but the saucer separation shot in EaF was replaced with CGI:

The same shot is used again in BOBW Part 2, but it looks much better. Look at how far they've come with the same CGI shot just a few months later:

The deflector dish has much more detail, the edges appear smoother and not obvious CGI, the grain applied makes it look more real, and the lighting looks more realistic.

When I saw that quick shot in the trailer, I thought they had located the original shot, but after comparing the two, it's still the CGI shot. Very well done.

Why didn't they just use the saucer separation shot in Generations, or was that also CGI?

The shot in Generations was the original model shot. Perhaps the footage was lost after it was used.

Hopefully the TNG footage in the last episode of Enterprise was put back into proper storage. Which also reminds me, I can't wait to see DS9 in the episode Birthright. It will be a beautiful teaser for DS9 Remastered, if/when it happens.

Or. That footage now resides with the movie which now resides with Paramount.

2:00 - I wonder if that's how the Part 1 to Part 2 transition will be accomplished. Either way, the greatest moment in TNG history is going to be truncated, so I'm only watching this once for novelty's sake, and then sticking with the separate versions.
Why would they have to truncate anything? I guess they will just cut out the ending of part 1, the teaser and opening of part 2, and then put it together. I really don´t see them truncating anything.

If they want it to work as a movie, they're going to have to lose that big dramatic sting, and fade to black, after "Mr. Worf... fire." That moment worked great as a cliffhanger, but as a movie it will simply kill the pacing of the scene.

But unless they edit all of them, the telemovie will contain half a dozen fades or so throughout the 90 minutes. Thus, I'd prefer they retain the original part one ending.

Re: "Best of both Worlds" - Special Bluray Release

I had a similar issue when I did my fanfic novelization of these episodes (see the link in my signature to read it). I wanted to keep the famous cut to black feel, but obviously I couldn't do a recap. I decided to go with a flashback scene from early on in the show, early Season 1, with Picard and Riker talking about the difficult choices they'd been forced to make in their lives. And then, when the reader's all nice and comfy in that scene, snap them back with Riker making the hardest choice of his life.

Yeah I noticed it was CGI in EaF but it does look a lot better in BOBW. It was far too dark in EaF and too clean looking like a lot of CGI in general, the gain really helps to match it to the model shots. It's a shame the incompetent HTV couldn't do something similar with the CGI shot from "Where Silence Has Lease"

That shot will pop up again in season 4's Clues. Hopefully the effects team responsible for that season will do a better job.

CBS Digital already had to redo it for S3's "The Enemy," so they'll probably just give it to [company name redacted ] for "Clues."
