Peter David suffers a stroke while on vacation: “We were on vacation in Florida when I lost control of the right side of my body,” David wrote. “I cannot see properly and I cannot move my right arm or leg. We are currently getting the extent of the damage sorted out and will report as further details become clarified.”

One of the best comic book writers of the past thirty years. Best wishes for a full recovery.

Among the highlights, a long and memorable run on THE INCREDIBLE HULK, as well as fondly-remembered stints on SUPERGIRL, X-FACTOR, and many other series.

Peter is also one of the most popular (probably the most popular) Star Trek authors out there.

I've exchanged a few emails with him and I've met him at conventions. He's extremely nice and loves to talk about anything nerd related. I'm very upset to see this and hope he's able to make a full recovery.

I mainly know him through his Trek novel work, especially the New Frontier books, which are among my all-time favorites.

Same here. I've talked to him a few times too, and he's always been a favorite.

i hope hes a southpaw thatll make his recovery and therapy much easierI know I'd have been screwed if id lost the rightside and not my left but it takes a lot of work and want toand it depends on the extent of the damage

Yes, I know, since Peter posted on his blog, that many of you have been apprised that my dearest friend had a stroke on his right side, while vacationing with Kathleen and Ariel, his daughter, at Disneyworld in Florida. He apparently began with double-vision and, later last night, his right leg went out. At moment, he's resting easily, with apparently excellent medical attention. Spoke to Kathleen a few minutes ago; I'm sure Peter himself will let those of us who wait helplessly but hopefully, if there is anything for us to do but look on prepared to assist.

Man, that sucks. My mom had a minor stroke back in the 80s, had to quit her job as a teacher because she couldn't write with her right hand anymore. But at least, she's still alive and well today, so I hope it will be like that with Mr. David.

If not, let's honor his spirit and take terrible vengeance on Disneyworld.

Sad news, I hope he recovers. I don't know him from Comics or ST Novels, since I don't read them, but, he wrote The Babylon 5 Centauri Trilogy of Novels, which are an excellent addition to the B5 Universe
