April 2013 challenge - Obsessions and Addictions

Picard and the Borg in First Contact, T'Pol and her trellium - Trek has, at times, given us characters who are toppling on the edge. And sometimes they fall off. Your mission is to write about one or more of these troubled folk.

Your story should be original work (i.e. not posted or published so far) and it should be finished when you post it. Post a link to your story in this thread to participate in the challenge.

Apart from that, almost everything goes, original or canon characters, alternate universes, it's up to you. Please, no crossovers. 10,000 word limit but I'm flexible - just ask!

To get us back on a monthly schedule, the deadline is April 25th 23:59 EDT so we can have enough time for voting and starting the next challenge on time.

Enjoy - but don't get too obsessed!

Ohhh, neat! This one is even more tempting than the last one.

Unfortunately, the same issues that kept me from having time for the previous challenge are still present, so I dunno if I'll be able to do anything, but I'll try!

And who're you calling obsessed?!

Interesting topic. I have the beginnings of a story but I have no idea if I will be able to execute it. I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes. So pencil me in for an entry.

I've sort of got an idea coming to me involving the 'obsession' theme - I might see if I can work something out and write up a small piece in time for the deadline.

Is anyone working on something in earnest? I just started because I didn't want the contest to end without any entry but I'm not sure where it's going. The only other person who might be in the process of writing seems to be Angry Fanboy. Mmh.

It's your contest, though. If you want to extend the deadline for a couple of days that's fine. It would be cool if those who are working on something could chime in here so you can make an informed decision.

What would you like to be the new deadline? I am open to whatever; I just picked 4/25 in order to stay on a more or less monthly schedule. Is 4/30 instead okay?

I got busy. I came up with a story but never actually wrote it. I'm not sure I would still have time with an extension. I think I'll be sitting this one out.
