Believable. Animation is cheap and I can see the executives waiting to see if STID will have the same appeal that ST09 did. Probably the most likely way we'll see Trek on TV any time in the near future.

Animate it and get cheap but convincing voice actors instead of trying to pay for the "real" ones.

Exactly. I don't see anyone shelling out the cash for a live action series at this point. Could be a solid animated series, for sure.

So ths will probably feature the Enterprise in the 20 years time interval between Robau's Death and Kirk signing up to Starfleet.

Maybe they will use that project that was cancelled.

The next frontier would be an alien captain, if they have the guts to do it.

Sounds like a mighty fine plan. A well crafted CG series ... maybe more of a miniseries format?

If it will be a mini i hope they will do something that was not done before like a spy ship or a ship that ferries special forces around.

Well, it would certainly drive costs up. Also, I'm guessing most of the cast would probably pass on it. It seems to work for Clone Wars.

A Trek animated show is a good idea, but they should really try to get a studio that knows how to do CGI well if they're going all CG (which I doubt, because that's going to cost way more in terms of budget and time, plus it looks like shit if you can't texture/shade it properly). I'd like to see a 2D show with CG ships, but I'll give a full CG Trek cartoon a shot.
