Hearing about it isn't good enough. I want to download it into my brain.

No, it's not. That's a completely different hair-do.
They look nearly identical to me, but parted on opposite sides. An assumption that she was Dehner would have been reasonable.

Men.
Exactly.

If the preview is only playing in 3D, the quality of whatever might be put on youtube will be really low.

There has been a point made in the comics that Spock has been risking his life more and more. Uhura has talked to him about it. [See issue #6.] She thinks he's still grieving the loss of his mother and world and that that is impairing his judgement. He's making choices that "ignore all sense of self-preservation." Maybe trying too hard to save others at the expense of himself. To this, all Spock would say is that he would try to change . . . "as circumstances require." Now he's volunteered to go into a volcano? [Hey, a Vulcan in a volcano.] What does that say about Spock's reasoning? Couldn't they have gotten a drone to do it, or something?
my thoughts exactly
It's funny because on one hand it seems that Spock is all vulcan and logic, apparently, but when you think about it he isn't as vulcan as he's being just impulsive and in a way.. illogical. That's not acting as a vulcan, it's acting like a human man who doesn't think about consequences.

So, I think that Uhura in the comics was totally right about him and I'm curious to know how they will play it in the movie because I expect them to deal with his grief in a realistic way.

Not officially, no. The best you can hope for is some special edition DVD/blu-ray of Trek XI with the nine-minute clip included. There is precedent for this, the first blu-ray release of Batman Begins in 2008 had the opening scene of The Dark Knight included with it.

However, if such a release were to happen, it would be no earlier then the second half of April.

Chill out, people. Imagine if they DID release these 9 minutes for everyone to see... You'd probably see it 956 times before May 2013. Don't you wanna enjoy the movie in its entirety, from the moment it begins?

Comming soon.net has a write up of the first 9 minuets. Not too much is revealed but we do know that the movie is not going to be as dark as many fans fear and that is good news.

Abrams genius really cannot be overstated. He gives you just enough in terms of spoilers to make any current Trek fan enough motivation to pre-order IMAX tickets for this film a month in advance if they'd sell it that soon.

I predict this film will shatter previous Trek box office records and by running this trailer on Hobbit it attempts to expand the fan base beyond current Trekkies anxious to see the film.

The marketing so far has a struck a good balance. I feel confident it will be at least as entertaining and pleasant as the last one, I've enjoyed the speculation and the information released thus far and I'm looking forward to seeing it when it comes out. At the same time, I've gotten as much info as I need and will do my best to avoid any further spoilers (other than any trailers I might catch) from here on in.

It's interesting that for some, spoilers ruin the experience whereas for others they don't. For me they typically don't because usually on Trek films there aren't any big surprises.

Now, had I known that Bruce Willis was already dead walking into the film The Sixth Sense, yea that would have ruined the experience.

Re: Details of 9 Minute Preview Revealed *SPOILERS*

I like to experience books, films, music, TV programmes (and any other form of storytelling) from a "fresh" perspective the first time, when possible. I often revisit them and appreciate them on various levels that I didn't catch the first time (most often with music) but I still like at least one crack at them without knowing what's coming (apart from a few tidbits here and there--and depending on the specific thing--without any at all).

If I get a hint that a film or book or TV programme has a significant twist to it, I will be especially careful to avoid any spoilers (and get rather upset if someone does spoil it for me deliberately). If I think it unlikely that there will be a major twist or "reveal", then I don't mind learning a few bits (like what we know now of the next Trek movie) but not too much. I know everyone expects a "reveal" about Cumberbatch's character (as do I) but I also know Abrams is loathe to allow such reveals to occur, so I've not been bothered by what's officially known so far. However, going forward, I suspect anything that is leaked will relate to the reveal, and I don't want that spoiled for me. I've been "teased" enough to want to see the film. I don't need anything more.

I hate my brain...

When I first saw that film, I knew from the moment that the kid started talking to him, he was dead.
(I suspected it from the trailer also.)

I had to bite my tongue so as to not ruin it for my GF during the movie.

That's why I don't speculate out-loud, about movies I really want to see anymore.

I hate being right, in those instances.

I've seen the 9 minutes (BTW: The Hobbit was fantastic) and all the other clues, but I'm keeping my speculation to myself.
