The Tall Ship Rises
![]() So, I was reading comments in the STXI forum today, and there was some speculation about the Enterprise ending up underwater. That idea, combined with the new poster that reminds everyone of The Dark Knight Rises, gave me this idea. What would the Enterprise look like, RISING, out of the WATER? ![]() ![]() 1920x1080: http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y20...lShipRises.jpg What do y'all think? -Ricky |

Re: The Tall Ship Rises
If anything.... and these are truly minor nits.... I would have more water pouring off the starboard side of the saucer and more splash/spray lit up by the lights. With so much weather going on, the lights should all be very visible with halos of shine around them from the rain -- but not lens flares, because the brightness of them would be more scattered... Also, I imagine certain parts of the ship (notably all the engines) to be quite warm and I think adding in some appropriately scaled steam from the nacelles and the impulse deck would be welcome additions. Also I'm not sure water would pour off the upper edge of the saucer like that, but don't change it because it looks damn-good there even if it doesn't quite add up... --Alex

Re: The Tall Ship Rises
Who cares if the Constitution was never intended for this (and would be more likely to sink and stay sunk!)? And who cares that the Yamato did it first?! There is just something unspoken that is awesome about ships sinking and/or rising out of a large body of water. |
