Actually, he's French which is why he's destroying London.

Yes, there will be no aliens or alien worlds and space travel in this.
The teaser poster makes that abundantly clear.

I think the fact that we are now 3 for 3 films in a row where Earth is put in danger should spell out how uninspired these films are. It's like no one wants to write a story unless the 23rd century Earth plays a major part, which by the way was never a factor in the original series.

I tried to get a group from this board to join me. Sadly I was on my own.
Well, Jean Prouvaire saw the premiere at the Sydney Opera House, and I saw it in a regular theatre for preview night, but a group of us did do a sold-out IMAX session a few days later:

But it was a premise of TMP, ST VI and "First Contact", three of ST's most successful films. Were they also "uninspired"?

Earth audiences like to see Earth threatened.

I'm quite certain outer space and alien worlds are accounted for in the upcoming film. I think this makes for a good initial tease because the scene set raises questions and may spark curiosity in the average movie goer who at a glance may not have registered it as Star Trek before seeing the title.

If JJ would just blow up the damn earth we would never have to deal with terrancentricity again.

Pretty cool, even if the TDKR influence is undeniable. I'd say this is the most impressive ST movie poster since...well, I can't remember a cooler one.
