I thinks this is distilling into Mitchell. JJ has gone down the TOS movie route in picking a canon character for his second movie.

No bad thing IMO.

Her eyes aren't glowing with Gary Mitchell powers, they're just reflecting something.

I say Cumberbatch is Starfleet's attempt at a 23rd century Augment (hence the Khan rumors and him being in a Starfleet uniform in the leaked footage). It will go horribly wrong.

I recently re-watched WNMHGB and her eyes DO appear to be glowing with the god-effect. Of course it could just be a coincidence... done accidentally on purpose to keep us seething.

Still not definitive proof against the idea though; Uhura may be at lesser degree of change than Gary.

This is a prequel comic. I doubt we'd see a large plot point being revealed before the movie and taking place in the comics.

It's just a reflection in her eye. I doubt they are going to spoil any major plot point on a comic cover.
Judging from what we got so far, the covers will just be the main four in dramatic poses.

Good grief, it's obviously just glints of reflected light, from the same "source" as the bright light hitting her hair, forehead, neck, shoulder, etc. Her irises are still quite visibly brown.

I do not know if she is transformed into something or she is facing something really bad.
