Hi there! How about art of the TOS, TMP, TVH, TFF and TUC Enterprise Bridges with The Window tm instead of The Viewscreen tm?

well the bridges would look the same, except the viewscreen is now a window. umm yeah.. big difference.

So we would see the familiar starfield only with the rim of the primary hull along the bottom of the window.

Having a 'windshield' instead of a view screen seemed to be a silly and impractical switch, but it did serve to create some (unnecessary) additional danger in the situation near the end of the movie. A view screen makes more sense. Of course, locating the bridge deep in the saucer would make even more sense, but how else would we zoom in from space & drop down to peek in on Captain Pike and Number One....!

Having Windows on the bridge of a starship is just completely silly and impractical, everybody knows they actually run on Linux

Except of course for Star Trek V, where the Enterprise-A was obviously running Windows ME
