No I'm not. I was disputing your seeming claim that all scenes should be left in movies because you don't mind watching long movies, ie: "I'm always in favor of just making the film longer."

That wasn't what I was saying. What I was saying is that if they created a story for his character (as well as the wife and daughter), then it would be nice to see it IF it works for the film. That's why I said I understand that this is not always possible, because it doesn't always work for the film. Also, I know that sometimes a killer concept on paper just doesn't jive very well when you put in on film, and so it has to go. There's always that possibility too.

It's almost like you just want an argument for the sake of it. I don't know what's up with that.

Your blanket statement seemed to not consider the commercial and directorial needs of the movie.

But I wasn't making a blanket statement if you consider the whole quote and not just the part you referenced. I think you may have taken that part of what I said out of context when you detached it from the rest of what I said and just responded to that.

Probably, Nazneen Contractor, Anjini Taneja Azhar and Noel Clrake shot scenes together, and their characters could not make the final cut of the movie, not only Clarke.
Sometimes they are not important to the plot, but they could just add some detail to the scene. Several scenes and just one make the final cut, these things happen.

the same would be with the guy who plays chess.

No, that's the name of the Actress playing his wife. His name is Noel Clarke, as mentioned in the first sentence of the first post of this thread

because that's the bit I still take as a blanket statement.

Because when you say "I'm always in favor of just making the film longer...", it sounds like you are "always" of that opinion and apply that to any film. Always means always, not "in this instance".

My thought is that he is in the move but he does not want to or can not give away his character. Perhaps this is contractually until the movie comes out. We will have to wait painfully and see.

It is not terribly uncommon for actors (and their roles) to be 100% cut out of a film. Below is an article regarding that. The article itself is not as interesting as the slideshow about halfway down the page titled "Actors Cut from Films".

One of the more interesting cuts mentioned in the slideshow was for The Thin Red Line. Mickey Rourke, Billy Bob Thornton, Gary Oldman, Viggo Mortensen and Martin Sheen were ALL cut out of that film during the editing phase.

That is the case for all cast members. As it was last time.

I've noticed, though, that a few minor character names/titles have been added to IMDb, probably the the excited extras and bit-part actors themselves.

Ooh yes, I can't wait to see the breakout performances for 'Deck Crew #11', 'Bar Patron 2' and 'Sexy Girl 1'. I am particularly curious about 'Meter Maid'.
