Re: Oppa Klingon Style

What is "Oppa"?
Or do I not want to know?

Re: Oppa Klingon Style

Hi Forbin, not sure whether you’re asking about “Oppa” specifically or Oppa Gangnam Style, so I’ll talk about both.

Oppa Klingon Style is a parody of Oppa Gangnam Style, a music video by the singer PSY in the Korean “K-pop” genre, which combines other music genres such as techno, “electropop” (uses a synthesizer), and hip-hip. I don’t see what the fuss is about, but I thought the parody was cute and I thought some members of the trekbbs might want to know about it.

Re “Oppa” specifically, a few websites translate it as “Big brother.” In this particular video, the singer apparently uses the term to refer to himself.

Live and learn, right?
