Beauty and the Beast

Ok, I went onto IMDb this morning and found a link to a photoshoot for the new Beauty and the Beast series, coming out this year: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2193041/

So what makes an attractive guy into a 'beast' is a scar? Really?

I hope there is more to it than that, otherwise its a serious cop out.

It's my understanding that the scar look is his normal appearance but then he sort of Hulks out and is beastly in appearance or he just acts savagely . I'm not sure which.

It just became moot for me when my cable company ditched the WB/CW/Whatever channel in favor of the NFL channel.
