Breaking Bad: half-season or full season?

Do you prefer the first half of Breaking Bad Season 5 as is or would you have enjoyed it more as a full 13-episode season?

The only thing I can't stand is the long wait for new episodes. In increments of 7, 13, and now 8 the series has been terrific. I don't think it matters how many episodes are produced each year with the writers and production personnel that are in place.

I think they should have just done a season 5 and a season 6 with 13 episodes a piece. Doing 8 and 8 is just annoying.

Re: Breaking Bad: half-season or full season?

I don't like it, splitting the final seasons of popular shows into 2 parts is becoming a trend and it just seems to be a way for networks to needlessly extend the runs of profitable or acclaimed shows without paying for it. At least in BB's case we're getting three extra episodes out of this decision, but season 5 was moving along at a good momentum only for it to suddenly stop, so the second part of the season is either going have to build up that momentum all over again or exit the gate running, neither of which is ideal.
