The other hardware that launched today

Although not a "new" console or handheld per se... just a new colour (and new Zelda game!).

This is my first 3DS so does anyone have recommendations on some good 3DS games? I already have Mario Kart, Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask, and Fire Emblem: Awakening on my list. Thought I've never played any of the Fire Emblem games, it sounds like something I might like.

Also, when I open it up, it makes a very audible clicking noise. Is this normal?

I can't wait to dig into A Link Between Worlds. But I gotta finish Wind Waker HD first...

Yeah, that looks awesome. Unfortunately, I already have a 3DS XL, so it's not going to fall into my hands.

As for 3DS Games, here's my recommendations:

Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D (Definitive version -- skip if you have the Wii version)
Etrian Odyssey IV (hardcore dungeon crawler -- be warned)
Etrian Odyssey: Millennium Girl (hardcore dungeon crawler -- be warned)
HarmoKnight (Rhythm Platformer)
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon
Shin Megami Tensei IV (JRPG)
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked (SRPG)
Shinobi 3DS (Platformer)
Super Mario 3D Land

3DS e-shop:

Gunman Clive (Awesome western Mega Man type game and only $2)
Mighty Switch Force 1 and 2 (Puzzle platformers)
Mutant Mudds (Platformer)
Pushmo (puzzle game -- possibly the best game on the system)
Crashmo (Pushmo sequel)
Shantae: Risky's Revenge (platformer)
Steamworld Dig (Metroidvania)
VVVVVV (Platformer -- Super Meat Boy difficulty)

I second the Shin Megami Tensei games. They're awesome. That clicking noise is indeed normal.

Also worth mentioning:

* Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (if you don't have it for another system)
* Animal Crossing: New Leaf (uh, if you are into stuff like that, SHUT UP DON'T JUDGE ME)
* Fire Emblem: Awakening (THIS IS A GREAT GAME, BUY IT)
* Heroes of Ruin (if you like Diablo style games, this is a decent one)

Welcome to the 3DS club.

Hmm, I kind of want one but this thing is just a little too new for any hope of a sweet Black Friday deal. If there's a good Vita deal I may grab one... just because of all the free PS+ games... and that streaming PS4 gameplay will come in handy at some point.. right...? Maybe...?

3DS does have some nice games though. One day it shall be mine.
