Whoreshi and Hoshi both have intriguing yet noncomplementary sets of character traits.

Then, it took them four seasons to tell us cool stuff like that at starfleet Academy Hoshi broke one of her instructors arms because he tried to break up a floating poker game she ran.

That makes her on par with Sgt Bilko or Top Cat.

How bad is poker honesty if there's no money?

You'd think that thye would get into more trouble for inventing some form of barter based good currency to underpin their gambling racket?

I was completely meh about Hoshi until she was ready to kill herself on the Xindi sphere so they couldn't extract the information from her mind. Then my opinion shot way up.

(I do think there was significant Hoshi/T'Pol subtext in the beginning though)

Now in fairness, as a music/theatre major I didn't really get bothered by the catsuit (well except for the heels) as I wore sometimes much less. And my sister was a gym coach her job she wore clothes as tight as a cat suit, just not as much. Because tight supporting clothing does actual make some things much easier.

Really outside of the heels and look at the TNG costumes, no pockets, no belts, you aren't supposed to see how things like phasers or the communicators attach to the clothing. Even the regular Voyager Out fit, really didn't provide things like belts, pockets, to be practical. So from the character's point of view whats the major difference between a skin tight outfight and one thats loser, but without any additional practical benefits? We don't really see the crew drooling after each other very often, not that I think it would even factor into her choice.

Comfort? She had her body covered with multiple cyber implants, I think the difference between a cat suit and the standard crew uniform wouldn't be that significant. In fact I actually good see someone in that frame actually liking wearing something a little more form fitting, something thats more connected to the skin.

Of course for the viewer, its meant to show off an attractive and endowed women.

But for an internal character rational I find (besides the heels, for either uniform) it more logical that she would want form fitting clothes, and as long as she was warm, I don't think she would find it logical to have several layers.

Certainly I was more bothered my T'Pol's outfit (I really liked her off ship jacket outfit), and of course all of ENT's costumes (besides T'Pol's cat suit) were actually functional.

As I have posted before about 7, the Borg wear skin tight coverings, like plating. She is not going to be comfortable flapping around in loose fabric. She is going to want to feel held together and perfection wise she is going to want absolute ease of movement. From that perspective the cat suit is logical.

The Doctor designed all her clothes.

Did he spontaneously invent those clothes or did Zimmerman/Barclay forget to erase all the porn he/they/he were hiding on the Doctor's server before they sent the final copy off to the factory for mass generation, fabrication and circulation.

We all have work at porn and... I mean we all have porn at work, not usable porn, just comfortporn so we don't start jonesing, and sometimes unfortunately we forget where we've hidden it when push comes to shove.

We've seen Barclay's porn before in TNG Holo Pursuits.

Quite unsettling, that he can't ravish Dee without beating on Riker first as foreplay.

They have the yellow trim to break up the over all look, and they have a baggy utility kind of look on Enterprise. The Voyager uniforms just seem dull, as do the other uniforms of the TNG/DS9 era. Too much one color overall for my liking. Also, compared to TOS the ships have too little variety in the styles of duty uniforms seen by the crew. Even Enterprise has that kind of feel of everyone in the same suit. I just don't care for it.
