^ Luckily, USC has both games at home. Still, I don't think they are playing at a level right now that would create a lot of confidence.

Speaking of USC, today marks the second game I will not be able to watch this season, because DirecTV and the Pac 12 Network can't agree on a contract.

This is seriously irritating!

I've been listening to the game on the radio. Having flashbacks to the 70's.

Barkley has just been pulled, with the game at 40-6.

His line for the day?

19 of 20, 298 yards, 6 TD's, 0 INT's

Barkley became the Pac-12's All-Time touchdown leader in this game.

I can't even be mad about Alabama's drubbing of my beloved Tennessee Volunteers.

1) Alabama is the #1 team and looks every bit of it. They're quite the well-oiled machine and could conceivably repeat as national champions. We'll see come January....

2) I had the Vols pegged for scoring only 10 points, so the 13 they managed technically counts as surpassing my expectations.

3) I can't feel anything but admiration and respect for Nick Saban. The man knows how to get it done.

Florida's gonna put an even bigger hurting on Georgia next week now that they ripped South Carolina a new one. They're rolling into the SEC championship game with Alabama.

I went to the Notre Dame game in South Bend this weekend. It was a great time. I wore ND colors (went with a friend who is a huge ND fan). Game was a nail biter; BYU's defense looked every bit as good in person as it appears on paper. Hard to believe they're a 4-4 team.

It'll be interesting to see how ND stacks up against OU this coming weekend.

It was kinda nice for once watching a team play that you weren't sure if they'd win the game or not... being an Alabama fan sometimes gets a little boring. Hopefully Florida keeps it up, and we'll get round 3 of the SEC championship games from 08 and 09.

Down goes Florida, and USC is soon to follow. I was holding out hope for a Tennessee defeat of SCAR, but that wasn't in the cards. Florida is now an extreme longshot for the SEC East. USC isn't holding up their end of the deal for teams in the hunt like Oregon and Notre Dame, ruining the SOS.

That injury to the South Carolina running back was grotesque.

As was USC's performance today.

Kiffin better start kicking some ass. 5 turnovers, 13 penalties, 2 failed fourth down attempts...and they lose by 3. Just terrible. And they wasted one of the best individual performances in college football history.

Oh, Colorado. What happened to you? 70-14 to Oregon. Embarrassing. As a grad of CU's in-state rival, Colorado State, I should be mocking them (we did beat them this year, too), but I just don't have the heart.

CSU sucks this year, too. The CU game is their only win so far, though they're beating Hawaii right now.

ETA- and CSU won. Well, at least they've won more than one game this season...

- Miami U (my alma mater) over Ohio U 23-20

The Miami Indian tribe inhabited the area in SE Ohio and Indiana and illinois long before they moved to other parts of the country like Oklahoma for the Indian Removals, etc. Technically, the name is not "Miami of Ohio" but simply "Miami University." But it's a logical naming tactic taken to make it easier on sportscasters.

The school in Florida is actually named "University of Miami". That city's name is more coincidence than anything else and came well after the original had taken root in Ohio and the Great Lakes region
