Re: What are you reading?

Agreed. I love how the books tie so many episodes and movies of together and do it in a believable manner. A lot of Trek novels can't do that very well.

Saving Faith by David Baldacci, I'm hooked on his Maxwell & King and Camel Club series, so figured it was worth a go.
My favorite of his is Last Man Standing, in case you haven't read that one...

Re: What are you reading?

I'm finishing up Stephen Colbert's latest book and starting another book on the history of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington. It's always been my favorite American governmental structure.

I just learned that Otfried Preussler died He was one of the most famous German childrens book authors ever.
As his works got translated into over 50 languages, some of you might know his books.

I'll pay him my respect by reading The Adventures Of Strong Vanja tonight

Physics for the rest of us by Roger S. Jones.

My niece has taken an interest in Einstein, and astronomy. She's only 6, and now she thinks science is "stupid". I'm brushing up on my knowledge of physics in order to show her how awesome science really is.

Currently reading Destroyermen #1: Into The Storm. Not bad, so far a light read but still good.

Oh, that's a very good one! Lots of misunderstandings and misleading false traces and complicated love affairs.

I brought James and the gigant peach as a lunchbreak read today

Way to go, man. It's never too early to help introduce a small child to something like astronomy. One of the great blessings of my youth is that my parents encouraged a love of the stars, planets and universe and bought me a telescope and binoculars to observe the cosmos.

Science is awesome.

I bought an awesome booklet from the early 1900s recently. There are tons of highly entertaining experiments and little party tricks. I could translate a few for you if you like. There are quite a few things that might fascinate a 6 year old (and which she can learn to do herself to impress her friends! )

Btw, you can tell her from me that Einstein was horribly bad at mathematics and his wife had to make all calculations for him because she was way smarter than him.
It might stir an interest for women in science in her. There are lots of very interesting ones - some of their bios make a thrilling read.
