the innocent one passed away :(

Note to Mods: my appologies if this should be the wrong forum. Please move this thread if necessary and please do leave it open so that the less regular posters get a chance to contribute to it. Thank you!

Many of the oldtimers here know or at least remember Deb aka TheInnocentOne aka Sprinkles. Today I received the sad news that she passed away from cancer. She was 58 years and 7 months old.

Beyond these dry facts she was my friend. And also that of many many posters all over the internet. We all are devastated at this terrible news.
Deb was one of the most sparkling personalities I ever met online and I'd have loved to meet her IRL one day. She always had a word of comfort for everyone who was sad and encouraged those who had lost hope. But most of all she was - in spite (very literally!) of her illness - an incredibly positive and humourous person. I always envisioned her a lot like this smilie: She had this way of making fun of people in such an irresistably funny way that even the victims couldn't help laughing out loud. I could almost see her sitting at her computer and putting on an innocent mien: "who? Mee? I have no idea what you mean" And I think we should remember here like this and giggle at the jokes she made, rather than being sad.
Easier said than done, I know, but she always wanted people to be happy and perhaps the best way to keep her memory alife is to try and be just that.
a hug a day keeps the psychiatrist away

To be honest, I don't really remember her, or I didn't see her around enough for me to recall her posts. That said, it is very sad to see a member of the community pass away. My condolences on the loss of your friend, rhubarbodendron.

She was before my time, but I'm very sorry to hear of her passing, and I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. Best wishes to you and to her family.
'First Contact' is the tale of a man who just wants to cash in on his creation so he can get wasted on an island full of naked women, but his fans keep insisting that he's a saintly visionary who has profoundly altered the world. AKA - 'I Don't Want to be a Statue: The Gene Roddenberry Story.'
