A totally random thing I would love to see in Avengers 2 is Captain America casually handing Mjolnir over to Thor, without realising what he just did.

We can wait for Avengers 3(or whatever title it uses) for that one.

Can he do that in the comics out of interest?

Cap has wielded Mjolnir in the comics before, yes.

Why is he able to win no other "mere mortal" can't?

Anyone who is worthy can lift Thor's hammer, but the list is small. As I recall (and using the internet to check), I know that people like Captain America, Thunderstrike and Beta Ray Bill have lifted it, and several credible places including comicvine also say that Wonder Man and Awesome Android have lifted it, along with Odin, Thor's grandfather Bor and great grandfather Buri.

Superman and Wonder Woman have wielded it in crossovers as well. I was reading up on it after I watched Thor 2 and apparently the creator of Beta Ray Bill suggested that Captain America wouldn't have been able to pick up Mjolnir because he was too patriotic and Mjolnir required a warrior's mentality, so he created Beta Ray Bill.

There's also the alternate universe where Rogue accidentally absorbed Thor when she fought the Avengers during her time as an evil mutant, and Thor's personality eventually helped her to become a hero in that reality. She became his successor.

Elizabeth Olsen finally confirms what most of us already knew:

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=111278
Rumored for a long time and seemingly confirmed by Samuel L. Jackson last month, Elizabeth Olsen has confirmed with MTV that she will play Wanda Maximoff, AKA The Scarlet Witch, in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. She spoke to the site specifically about acting alongside Aaron Taylor-Johnson once again, whom she just completed Godzilla with a few months ago.

"We get to play husband and wife, and we get to play twin brother and sister," she said. "It's also fun because even though in 'Godzilla' we play husband and wife, we don't have a lot of scenes together. I just love him. I love his family. I love his kids. I'm so excited we get to work with each other more and to actually work with each other. I think it's going to be fun."

When asked if she'd seen any concept art or costuming for the film she replied,"No, I just know about it. It's been talked about, and it's so fun."
Good news
