Wolverine's death in the comic is one of the more iconic images. It's a shame to lose that.
We don't know that it is lost in the film. For all we know, Wolverine's body could be disintegrated a split-second after his consciousness goes back in time.

The 70s. The Apocalypse film will take place in the 80s.

Anyway, unless they send Kitty herself back in time (instead of her memories), she'll have nothing to be sent to.

Eight new posters and I think the second one is a little reminiscent of a certain classic cover: http://m.totalfilm.com/news/eight-ne...of-future-past

There was never any chance of this being a Kitty Pryde/Ellen Page headline film. For many more reasons than the popularity of Wolverine. This film began as a sequel to The First Class. The intention was always to focus primarily on its cast and take place in the 1970s. That stayed as it evolved to using the Days of Future past comic as a inspiration, never a direct adaptation. Using the concept of a future X-Man traveling into their younger body gave few options.
Thanks for the summary there (of things I already know, btw). That doesn't change the fact that when they first announced the film I was hoping Ellen Page would be front and center.

My point is we should be happy Ellen Page is even in the movie and while not probably a huge role its a critical one to the story. She herself said she never expected to play Kitty again. Given the way The Last Stand ended and the direction of the prequels it seemed unlikely for years. Also its great she has returned at all. Her career has grown a lot since than. There must have been something that appealed to her.

They could send her back into her mom's body, and call the film X-Men: Freaky Fridays of Future Past.

I only wish they had given her a better costume. Something more like the one in X-Men 3.

I think you're missing the point I was making. I am not in any way disagreeing with anyone that you said. I only stated that I thought (based on what I knew of the comic) Ellen Page would have a bigger role before I learned that they were altering the source material a lot. And yes, it makes perfect sense they can't send Ellen Page back to a time period that she was not yet born in.

But come, how cool would it have been to see an X-Men film where Wolverine was not the main focus? It would have been something new (and I'm not counting First Class because it was just a cameo, he wasn't a part of the main ensemble).

Could have cast Scott Bakula as the time traveler.
Win .

The posters look ok enough. Really like most of the Wolverine ones.

Then why not just send Professor X or Magneto back?
