Prefer live action but TITAN would be an excellent animated series. We'd get Frakes and Sirtis' considerable voice talents but wouldn't have to look at them

New show with new characters=live.

Show with characters from TOS, TNG, DS9 and VOY=animated.

Animated.

The cost of GOOD FX alone are very, very high. Especially foir a show that is traditionally as FX heavy as Star Trek. Animation bypasses that nicely.

Animation = FX. They're both computer graphics. Animation is no cheaper than good FX, except that animated shows use cheaper fx for the entire show so you don't notice the difference.

Not necessarily. If the show is primarily 2D, then the most that's gone with computers is coloring/shading and CGI ships. If it's a Clone Wars/Tron Uprising/Transformers Prime type deal, then yes, it's mostly computer graphics.
