Warner Brothers has quietly said that they will NOT be doing any films staring female heroes since they don't bring in the bucks.
Also, Bruce and Selina seem like an item at this point, so you really couldn't bring back Catwoman without involving Bale's Wayne.
Of course you could - you just do a story about her before she met Bruce Wayne. Plainly she has a good deal of history prior to the start of the story. With all the buzz around Hathaway's Catwoman, I wouldn't count it out.

I definitely want to see the next Batman being an unstoppable bad ass at the top of his game. And a brilliant detective.

Did they ever do the bit in the Nolan movies where somebody tries to attack him from behind and he backhands them without even looking?

And according to recent quotes, Hathaway would be down with playing her in a spin-off. She told Digital Spy, "I think it would be lovely to see more of her but only if it's with the right people. She lives in this Gotham City and so it would have to be established by the people who have made this Gotham City. For me, at least."
Anne Hathaway Would Make a Catwoman Spin-off, but Do We Want One?

I'd love to see Hathaway reprise Kyle in her own movie, but it's probaby not likely to happen.

I say wait a few years and reboot the entire series like they did with Spiderman. Maybe make it more like Batman:Beyond.

Re: What's next for Batman...

Though I wouldn't mind seeing a continuation of the Nolan films with a certain character (the identity of which I will not reveal), I'm also cool with someone doing something different with Batman.

I would like to see the more fantastical villains get some screen time too like Killer Croc, Man Bat, Mr. Freeze (much better done than B&R), Clayface, etc.

But if the Nolan films continued, they could easily do so with a lot of the 'realistic' villains still left over like Riddler, Penguin, Black Mask, Rupert Thorne, Maxie Zeus, Mr. Zsasz, Jim Gordon Jr., and Deadshot. There's also groups like the Black Glove or the Court of Owls.

But that doesn't mean he can't return.

Only Burton's Batman is badass enough to pull off that shit.

Re: What's next for Batman...

I love the Nolan films, but I'm looking forward to a new interpretation. There are other aspects of Batman lore to explore, and I think the end of The Dark Knight Rises is quite final.

I also think they could make an amazing live-action Batman tv show, but it probably won't happen because they'll want to do movies.

I just want the next "Arkham" game to come out. That's all I care about right now with Batman. The funny thing is that I was more than happy to let TDKR be the end of the Nolan-verse, but with the way that it ended, I'm actually more excited to see a continuation than I was before.

Whatever it is lets just not do the origin over again. I didnt really like Nolans reimaging of it but we dont need to see it again. Just tell a good Batman story and the movie will make itself. The only thing they need to do is start to establish a single universe that all their characters exist in.

I'm excited for a new Arkham game as well. Most folks in the know expect it to be a version of No Man's Land and encompass all of Gotham this time. This way we will finally get to visit Wayne Tower.

Prior to watching TDKR I was fully prepared and ready to leave the Nolan-verse behind and move on to a new take on the character. After watching it however, I want more films in this universe more than ever before. The ending of TDKR is just so ripe with possibilities
