Riker's beard was fake?

I read somehwere recently that RIker's beard was stick on. Is that a rumour or fact?

roumor Jonathan Frakes grew it while the show was off season and he kept it or al least thats what I heard.

Just because we have no footage of him peeling it off and sticking it back on again doesn't mean the rumour is an unqualified one.

We know because Frakes said that he grew it during the break between the first and second seasons. No reason he'd make that up.
