Favorite Invasion of the Body Snatchers film?

Which film adaptation of Jack Finney's The Body Snatchers was your favorite?

I'm probably most partial to the 1978 remake with Donald Sutherland.

The 1956 film with Kevin McCarthy, which is one of my favorite science fiction films. The '78 and '94 films have their moments but don't impress me all that much. The 2007 version I've never even seen, and apparently I'm not missing much.

Another vote for the '56 version. The black-and-white, the voice overs all feed the paranoia that's at the base of the film.

Absolutely the 1978 version. The original leaves out critical pod tactical info. Admiral Buzzkill and I are as always in total agreement about this.

My brother conned himself into believing the vomity Nicole Kidman film was the ultimate take. He never saw Phil Kaufman's.

1978 > 1956 > 2007.
1993=? (never saw it)

I find the 1978 version to be actually deeply disturbing.

I have to go with the classic 1956 version. Kevin McCarthy's performance just pushes it over the top for me.

Donald Sutherland version, 1978. When I was a kid, that freaked me the hell out.

'78 for me.

I can't wait for the next film version, likely to be titled "Of The".

Leonard Nimoy, Lee Ermey and Meg Tilly in particular have played intriguing pod-people leaders. But if, God forbid, they make a FIFTH version, who better to lead the pod army than Chloe Grace Moretz next time?

The fifties version holds up really well but I saw the seventies version first when I was at the right age to be absolutely terrified by it so it gets my vote.
