The Happytime Muders: Swearing, Sex, Violence, and Muppets

I saw a story about this on IGN last week and forgot to post about it. Apparently Brian Henson is working on an R-rated murder mystery movie with Muppet style puppets. I'm a huge fan of the Hensons' stuff, so I'll definitely be keeping a very close eye on this. But I am a little concerned about whether or not mainstream audiences would go for something like this.
Here's IGN's description:
The Happytime Murders centers on puppet private eye and disgraced ex-cop Phil Phillips, who is tracking down the serial killer who murdered his brother and is now targeting cast members of the famous '80s show The Happytime Gang.
