Take Care, Gary. Certainly one of the more Iconic voices in media. Good gestures, too.

What a shame. I just caught a glimpse of him on a Batman episode this evening.

I've seen a few of the Laugh In Specials from the mid-90s. He certainly contributed to the show's magic.

I was mostly familiar with him as Narrator of Space Quest 4. Sad to see him go. He had a rather unique voice.

I strongly suspect he was the voice of all the Cylons (well, all the Centurions) in the original Battlestar Galactica and Galactica 1980. He was credited as the voice of the damaged Cylon Cy in "The Return of Starbuck," which used a different voice treatment where Owens's own voice was more audible, but all the Cylon voices throughout both series had a particular rhythm and syncopation that was very much like Owens's distinct way of speaking. And he was a very active announcer and voice artist in TV at the time. I wish I knew for sure, though.

I first saw Gary on Laugh-In during the 60s, and immediately recognized his voice on the original Space Ghost show. During the spoken Laugh-In credits, he would sometimes add "and featuring Margo, the friendly drelb."

From en.battlestarwiki.org:

Both the Gold Command Cylon Centurions and the Silver Cylon Centurions were voiced with an EMS Vocoder 2000 [1] (verified in the book 'How to Wreck a Nice Beach' by Dave Tompkins) by voice-actor Michael Santiago.

Maybe not the voice but a very distinctive voice of that generation.
