Wow, another good one gone. Though I must admit I wasn't aware he was still around.

Great in McHale's Navy and Airwolf. I'm sure I've seen him in a lot more things than I can remember at the moment.

R.I.P.

From everything I've ever read about him, a truly great human being as well. 95 and still making appearances and working. A US Navy vet as well ho served his term and got out and reupped when WWII hit.

/** RIP good sir. You may stand down now.

Truely, a sad day for the world today. Ernest Borgnine was very funny and he was great actor. I always enjoyed him on McHale's Navy with Tim Conway, and Joe Flynn. He was Outstanding in "The Poseidon Adventure" and even better in "Airworf".

We are losing to many of great actors....it's very sad indeed. My prayers go to Ernest's family and friends during this period in their lives.

RIP Ernest!!!!

The last of the Wild Bunch... The guy was in so many good movies. Marty, of course, From Here to Eternity, Vera Cruz, Bad Day at Black Rock, and on through some of the memorable sci-fi features of my youth, The Black Hole and Escape from New York. And you had to love that he was still doing Mermaid Man on "Spongebob" in his 90s. A gunner's mate on a flush-decker destroyer in WW2, too. That leaves Kirk Douglas and Don Rickles as the only living WW2 navy vet actors I can think of.

Thanks Mr. Rickles and RIP.

Always seemed like a great guy, and I enjoyed him in an uncountable amount of movies. In addition to everything mentioned so far, he was very good in small role as the general in The Dirty Dozen.

I was just talking about him this morning at work during breakfast. I was talking about how I would love to meet him ( was hoping he would do another tcm cruise) and how great of shape he is in for 95, still working etc. Than tonight I learn he dies. Unflipping believable.
