Where in Canada are you? Here in Toronto i got Raise the Dawn just yesterday.
Vancouver, BC.

Amusingly the official Chapters site says it's not released, yet it ALSO says copies are in certain stores. WTF...?

Will hopefully have it soon.

In many cases, books arrive at the store well ahead of their scheduled release date. In only a few cases, though, are books that arrive ahead of their scheduled release dates held back from the floor--usually huge titles, most famously the Harry Potter novels, but other hardcover betsellers.

Ran out and bought it at my local Barnes & Noble last night.

Without giving anything away, it's definitely a nice coda for a few characters and great step in a new direction for others.

Coda? So does that mean we can expect some deaths?

I wouldn't say that. And that's not me being evasive. I just meant that it's good to see a resolution. I like endings. And I like to see it when a character's arc concludes.

Yay, ordered it, now gotta wait till this weekend and avoid this topic like the plague, since in the PoN topic, someone just basicly spoiled the entire ending without using any spoilertags. Not going to risk that this time.

I must say that I find it ironic that the first book since the destruction of DS9 reads like it might have been an episode of the series. It was like seeing some old friends again.

(As for Sela, I always wanted to see her find out that her origin wasn't quite what she thought. IE: That Tasha was impregnated involuntarily specifically to produce a Romulan-Human hybrid, sort of Romulus's answer to Spock. No that doesn't happen in the book and I'm only mentioning it because now it won't.)

Really? WTF? First Captain Janeway and now Captain Kira? I guess the novelverse is going to kill every strong female lead we've come to know and love except for Dax. 10 Captain Daxs are not worth 1 of Kira. I'm sick of the Dax as captain worship.

ETA: And the station we love.
