Steven Moffat honored with BAFTA special award

Presented by none other than his two main stars for two of his series

Matt Smith and Benedict Cumberbatch

Not a fan of most of his work on the last couple series of Who and of the last two episodes of Sherlock, but the guy is a hard worker who deserves recognition, I suppose, and watching that clip made me happy.

Watching him trying to pull the same "I'm wacky, me!" as he picked up from RTD that the Doctor ought to be like was cringe-inducing.

I was surprised by how much I really liked the first season of Sherlock, getting a bit pissed off by all the hype; the second series was not quite as good but still very solid for the most part (I'm possibly in the minority, but my favourite S2 episode was the one by Gatiss).

Re: Steven Moffat honored with BAFTA special award

Although it doesn't get mentioned much these days, Jekyll is another solid Moffet show.

Jekyll was excellent, shame it didn't get its second series.

Yeah, though to be honest I'm not sure it needed a second series, I thought it stood quite well on its own.

Wonderful tribute by Cumberbatch and Smith and great speech from Moffat himself. Every show I've seen him work on (Coupling, Jekyll, Doctor Who, and Sherlock) has been brilliant and I look forward to more of his work for many years to come. And I suppose I should eventually watch Press Gang, too.

Well maybe it doesn't 'need' another series. But I'd still pay good money to see one.

Jekyll stands alone well enough as self-contained mini-series, with strong performances from James Nesbitt and Denis Lawson. I was also properly introduced to Gina Bellman, but I wasn't sure about Paterson Joseph's American accent.
