Under the dome - TV series vs. Novel

I´m sure this has been already discussed, but I´m curious if you liked Stephen Kings huge tome "Under the dome" better than the TV show or the other way round.

IMO the TV show is unable to hold a candle to the novel, despite Kings influence.

The characters are different and the TV show is more Mystery than Horror.

On the other hand I keep on watching it. Last season ended with a cliffhanger and I want to know how it continues.

On top of that, I like the actors, especially Dean Norris and Mike Vogel.
