Oh my, the WWE's Chyna is in a co-starring role as She Hulk in this flick.

Sweet.

Is this the first time he's played a woman?

:shudder:

Most depictions of She-Hulk I've seen show her as fit but still very feminine with all the curves one would expect. I don't think a female body builder would be the route to go.

They have to put Wolverine in Avengers 2.
Sure, why not? I'm sure Disney/Marvel would just love fighting the lawsuit that FOX would file against them.
Not to mention he's NOT a frakking Avenger!

Someone mentioned Cloak and Dagger a page or so back...word is they're getting a TV pilot. I'd watch it.

There is a snippet of the Avengers XXX movie-- a Black Widow/Hawkeye scene-- available for viewing at one of the myriad free porn sites out there. For obvious reasons, I'm not gonna post a link.

um... yes he is...

*goes back and checks issues*

Yup, i was right...

Wolverine has been an Avenger several times over the various incarnations of the team... he might not be one of their founding members, but he's been a member of the team quite a few times...

Sorry, but denial is more than just a river in Egypt. Wolverine has been an Avenger for over eight years now, as has Spider-Man. Hell, in the current Avengers vs X-Men series, he's fighting with the Avengers against the X-Men.

Cap
Pym
Wasp
Vision
Scarlet Witch
Beast
Jocasta
Wonder Man
Hawkeye
Ms. Marvel
Jarvis (he's a person, damnit!)

Chyna's a hell of a lot smaller than she used to be. Still.... ick.

think it was about 2004 or 2005 for that issue... i'll double check, but there was an actual valid reason for Storm's clothes going black with the lightning insignia... been a while since i've read through those issues though

So Beast is allowed but no Wolverine? They'll allow criminals like Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, etc, but no Spider-Man? (And I thought it was Bendis' idea, not Quesada's)

To me, the Avengers is whoever the writer's say are in it. It's a team that has never been the same since day two. Literally. To say "THESE" are the real Avengers while "THESE" people aren't is kind of ridiculous. It's a team that's always evolving and always will.

Besides. It's Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Wasp, Hulk and Ant-Man. Anything more than THAT is wrong.

The MCU is going to be very different than any of the various comic continuities. The Avengers in the MCU can be whatever it wants to be and contain whoever it wants and if Marvel ever gets the rights to Spider-Man and the X-Men back you can bet your ass they'd be in the Avengers.

Agreed. You can say what you want about Bendis and Quesada (Lord knows I have) but the truth of the matter is that they took a mid-range selling single book and turned it into Marvel's best-selling franchise, selling more than even Spider-Man and X-Men. If that's what having your "head up your ass" means, then that phrase has a very different definition then I would have guessed.

And to be honest, I can take or leave having Wolverine on the team, but I wanted Spider-Man to become an Avenger for decades before it finally happened.

Also, from my personal perspective, if Spidey and Wolvie hadn't become Avengers, I probably wouldn't be reading comics today. I stopped reading comics in the early 90s, and only came back for Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run. While in my LCS looking for the newest issue of Astonishing, I noticed New Avengers #1 with Spidey and Wolvie on the cover and was intrigued enough to buy it. From there, it didn't take much to get me back into the greater MU. If I had picked it up and just saw the same old line-up (see above) being served tea by Jarvis at the mansion while waiting for the UN to call, I would have put the book back unread. Been there, done that.

Re: what's next for Marvel (movies)?

I think its a matter of personality that makes Wolverine and Spider-Man "wrong" as Avengers. Both are loner types, which runs counter to the image of the Avengers as the world's most preeminent and public superteam. Of course they are two of Marvel's most popular characters, so from a business sense its logical to place them in the Avengers.
