I like blondes and am definitely a ScarJo fan... but thank you, I was wondering if somebody else was going to point out Cobie Smulders.
Already did. She was talked about for a few posts. I'm big on Smulders too.
My mistake.

Cobie Smulders sounds like a porn star name.

I figured out why Harry Dean Stanton was in the film. It was Whedon's nod to RED DAWN. What was Stanton's character's last line in the film? "AVENGE ME!"

Do I win at least a cookie for figuring that out?

A-

Very good movie. I still think I like Captain America best of all the Marvel superhero flicks, but this one is very high up there.

I was impressed that Whedon devoted so much time to "boring" dialogue and character development, in addition to the expected insane action sequences. I don't think the kid kicking my seat in the row behind me was quite as happy about it. Where's the Hulk when you really need him?

And as a bonus, I finally know how to pronounce "shawarma."

Glad I managed to remain unspoiled as to a: the "big death" and the "surprise baddie" at the end. Thanos! Can Warlock be far behind? (Answer: yes, very far. Oh well.)

I see this thread has moved on from reviews per se to sexually harassing the actors. I'll toss in my vote for Chris Evans. That guy is so gorgeous that he looks like a special effect. And despite being skeptical about anyone replacing Edward Norton, I was totally sold on Mark Ruffallo's more soulful and sweet take on Banner.

But Loki? Ugh! If you like the greazy-hair look, I guess.

A closer look at some of the computer displays in "The Avengers" including a closer look at the HUD inside the Iron Man suit.

Re: AVENGERS: Grade, Reviews, Discuss, DVD & Sequel **SPOILERS**

We are being teased now about the giant PHASE ONE 10-disc MCU BluRay set to be released later this year. The details will drop on July 15, for now we get a box cover design and general info.
Though an official date is still unconfirmed, an interesting tease has shown up Amazon for something called the "Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One - Avengers Assembled" Blu-ray collection. The tentative list of content for the ten-disc set reads as follows:

• Marvel’s The Avengers (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
• Captain America: The First Avenger (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
• Thor (Blu-ray 3D and Blu-ray)
• Iron Man 2 (Blu-ray)
• The Incredible Hulk (Blu-ray)
• Iron Man (Blu-ray)
• Bonus Disc - “The Phase One Archives” (Blu-ray)
• Collectible packaging with exclusive memorabilia from the Marvel Cinematic Universe
This is AMAZON's rough detail list so you can at least pre-order. Details in 6 weeks!!

Yeah...I have all of Phase One on Blu-ray except for IM1, and I'm still considering getting that.

The only ones I own so far as the two Iron Man movies. I'm wondering if there will be an even bigger uber mega ridiculous boxset once all the sequels to all these movies come out in the next several years.

Such a release is without doubt, I would think. The question is, if you want to own these movies, do you want to wait for such a release?

My guess is, if that box art text is to be taken literal, is that this group of films is PHASE ONE.

So PHASE TWO starts with Iron Man 3, Thor 2, Captain America 2, unnamed MCU movie on May 16,2013 etc, etc till Avengers 2. End Phase 2. That would then be a box set.

Saw it for the second time today, this time in 3-D. Noticed a lot of little things I missed before- like how freaking tired Hawkeye looked before getting knocked out by Black Widow. I wanted to tell him to go to bed! Also heard some things I missed before, but a few bits of Widow/Banner and Widow/Hawkeye dialog I still couldn't quite hear.

Same with the James Bond movies. They make a box set for all the movies yet more movies are on the way.

Anyone remember the complete Star Trek DVD box set? It was Star Trek 2-10 standard edition DVDs and the Star Trek I special edition DVD. Then they released the Star Trek II special edition DVD so out came the box set with two special edition movies and eight regular edition movies. Then the Star Trek III special edition DVD gets released and out comes the box set with three special edition movies and seven regular edition movies. This kept going until all ten movies had special editions.

I don't have a BluRay player. Otherwise, for a good price, I'd get the box set. Even if they are making other movies, there's still a sense of all roads lead to the first Avengers movie. So it makes sense to get them all together.
