BTW, someone told me there is an F-bomb in this. Where was it?
The only thing I remember is Scarlett saying "Baise moi", which i think translates as "F* me", when they send her to get Banner
I think it was "Bozhe moi" (Russian for "O my God", and used a lot in comics). "Baise-moi" is French.
I suppose that could be it too, though the way the scene played and how she reacted I could see her saying "F* me" more than I could see her say "Oh my god"

I assure you it does not sound as "baise-moi."

Actually I heard a review that said it was Loki who said something that sounding like a F-bomb sounding. I guess that was it.

I miss those videos. I also liked the use of Spidey in that one.

Virtually every grade is in the "A" range. That's pretty surprising.

I just got back from a midnight showing, and I'll say I can die a happy and contented man. Spectacular. I had a ball. I saw some of my favorite superheroes kick every kind of ass possible on the big screen together. Oh man. I need to go see it again, like right freaking now.

Marvel's The Avengers has pulled in $281m in 8 days of International release so far. With today's totals, not tallied till tomorrow it should be over $300m on opening day in North America.
Walt Disney Pictures and Marvel Studios announced this morning that Marvel's The Avengers earned another $20.6 million internationally on Wednesday, May 2nd. That puts the overseas total at $281.1 million so far.
It's been kicking arse here. So far it's made around $23 million in 8 days. And I reckon it will make more this weekend, it should be able to beat all the other movies that are screening at the moment.

I wanted to attend the midnight screening. Heck, on the day was so pumped. And then the next day saw it again. It's so amazing.

Tomorrow, planning attending FCBD ... and hopefully get an Avengers comic that is offer. Heck it's just gonna be a fun day, as everything is ready.

Re: AVENGERS: Grade, Reviews, Discuss, DVD & Sequel **SPOILERS**

Just got back from a 12:35 am showing, and have to say that the film is better than both Thor and Spider-Man 2 (which are pretty much the two best Marvel movies EVER) combined. Joss Whedon has worked his magic once again, this time proving for everyone to see what his fans already knew: he's one of the best writer/directors on the planet.

I'm not usually a fan of recasting, but in the case of this movie, it's totally justifiable because Mark Ruffalo is the PERFECT Bruce Banner/Hulk, and is far and away better than Edward Norton (and I'm more familiar with Norton than I am with Ruffalo).

Go see this movie as fast as is humanly possible. It's hands-down the best Marvel superhero movie made to date and will not disappoint.

Normally this is the last thing on my mind, but the scene where Cap has to shield Black Widow kind of highlighted the fact that she isn't a "real" superhero. She serves a purpose in the story and has her action and heroic moments, but cowering from Hulk and manipulating Loki with tears seems hardly powerful feminist stuff coming from Whedon. By the next one they really need to have a proper female superhero to join the boys tossing punches and flying through walls.

Really my only notable complaint. The movie is goddamn fantastic.

Re: AVENGERS: Grade, Reviews, Discuss, DVD & Sequel **SPOILERS**

Looking through the Avengers roster through the years highlights very few superpowered female characters suited for the film treatment, much less their own movie. Wasp would be tricky too, and she might just have the most potential of all of them.

A female character doesn't have to have superpowers for Whedon to make them strong. Black Widow joins Zoe Wasburne, Kaylee Frye, and Winifred Burkle in Whedon's pantheon of non-powered 'superwomen', and is written just as strongly and believeably as them. She more than holds her own against the guys, and is actually one of the best characters in the movie. Her moments of vulnerability in no way make her 'weaker' and in fact only demonstrate her strength.

Gotta disagree. Carol Danvers/Ms. Marvel would fit very comfortably into the filmic Avengers lineup and is a character who very much fits into the mold of Whedon's stable of superpowered female heroes.
