When Will TCM Air Star Wars?

It is a classic, no?

I'm sure if TCM could get the television rights, they would show Star Wars.

They're showing Planet of the Apes, so it shouldn't be long now.

The question then becomes--which version? If it's TCM wouldn't they be interested in the older version?

It's also a question of the audience -- whilst many of us love both, I'd think the majority of their viewers would be indifferent about it given how much other exposure it has.

I doubt it would be cheap. Do they show any other old Disney movies?

Not that I recall, certainly not often if at all...

They need to have another Kurosawa marathon. That hasn't happened in a while.

^That, and less 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's movies. It's time to focus on the 1970's and 80's (as well as the 90's soon after the others.) How many Busby Berkeley movies does one need to see anyway?

The reason it's my default station is the 30s and 40s movies. And the 50s. 60s and 70s are okay. I really don't want to see anything more recent than that. Maybe they can pull a VH-1 and split into a couple of subchannels-- 30s-60s and 70s-90s.

Re: When Will TCM Air Star Wars?

^TCM can't only stay stuck in the past like that, however; it must move forward. And creating separate channels just to show movies from more recent eras is just being redundant.
