I think the networks really will be rethinking 22 episodes a season and work there way down to 13 episodes for a lot of shows. NCIS and such will stay the same, but some shows really can't work that great come springtime.

I'd like to see some sort of three-block schedule where they have one show air thirteen episodes from, say, September to December, then a different show air thirteen episodes from February through May, and then use June through August as the usual dump-off period for failed shows and whatever else. It'll never happen, though. Broadcast TV is all about putting out as many episodes as possible in order to hit or get close to 100 so they can sell them off for syndication.

What shows are you talking about? The sitcoms? All the dramas are holding up pretty well and the reality shows are cheap to make.

It is sad OTH didn't break 1+ (rating) for it's Series finale but I haven't seen it since S3.
