Captain Rachel Garret...

Why isn't she ever mentioned among the best Captain's? Sure she didn't have her own show. But she confronted FOUR Warbirds and destroyed two of them while crippling another before succumbing. It is because of her (and her crew's) brave efforts that the Klingon's are considered Federation allies. She deserves lots of credit in my opinion.

For one thing, because how the Enterprise performed in battle isn't widely known and the details only come up from one of the Trek novels that few of us have read.

Secondly, it's mainly because (AFAIK) Captain Garret didn't destroy those warbirds, Commander Castiel did, and that with the help of Tasha Yar, the presence of which ALMOST atones for her humiliating death-by-space-bukkake in Season 1.

Re: Captain Rachel Garret...

Has it ever been mentioned onscreen in Star Trek exactly how the Enterprise-C performed in the battle?

And remember, it wasn't just the actions of the Enterprise-C that led to the peace between the Federation and Klingons. We have onscreen comments by Riker in "Sarek" that Sarek of Vulcan played a role in it and in that second season episode with the deaf/mute guy who also negotiated a key part of it as well.

Only bit that I can remember is Sela mentioning how the surviving crew were captured and the Romulan general having his way with Tasha.

That woman loved her shoulder pads.

In fact, she loved them so much, I suspect she was a Romulan spy.

In another thread about peoples' favourite Captain, Rachel Garrett got several mentions. She ranks pretty highly on my list of favourite CO's.

Commander Castiel
It was Lieutenant JG Richard Castillo (the Chief Helm Officer) who assumed command after Garrett was killed in the altered future.

It saddens me to know that Tasha died such a horrible way. They should have kept it away from me. I loved Natasha Yar.

Indeed. That slipped my mind. However, she probably destoryed the two, while Castillo disabled the one...

Castillo.

Castiel is an angel on "Supernatural".

That's how things actually happened, though I don't remember anyone from Supernatural showing up in Yesterday's Enterprise.

However, these wouldn't be known in the official record, and according to it, Captain Garrett was in command and therefore would take the credit.

Still, the Enterprise C was pivotal to the peace treaty. Yesterday's Enterprise shows us that if they hadn't got involved the Federation and the Klingons would have gone to war.

She didn't get sucked into it, Riker did. Tasha Yar was fatally bitch-slapped by the tar pit. Well, maybe not bitch-slapped, see for yourself.
