Well I've got no shot in this one, but I still need to get an entry in lol... here's what I have so far, taken from the signature scene of Peter David's New Frontier series.

It's mostly rendered with some PS work to accentuate the explosions and a touch of motion blur... The BG is a real space pic.

Here's the final version, found some better crew pics to use...



...and in more-specific answer to above, I rendered the original big pic, then used some brushing and some filters to make it more comic-y.
