The Graysons.

There are many superheroes where you could spin a "before they were the hero" series out of. Dick Grayson is not one of them. I usually try to give any potential new show the benefit of the doubt, but that one....

I hope he gets to have a beard. It suits him and the character.
Looks like he stepped right out of a comic book. He sort of looks like the Mike Grell version of Oliver Queen.

Some hunky looking guy gets the lead role.

In a potentially star-making turn, Amell has been cast in the title role on the CW pilot Arrow. In the Warner Bros. TV project, described as a modern retelling of the story of DC Comics character Green Arrow, he will play the vigilante superhero who fights crime using archery, martial arts and technology under his secret identity as Oliver Queen, a wealthy playboy and billionaire industrialist-turned-outspoken politician in Star City.
Interesting...hopefully we will get a good cast...maybe a familiar face or two as supporting characters.

announced. The producers include Greg Berlanti (Everwood), Marc Guggenheim (FlashForward), and Andrew Kreisberg (Vampire Diaries, Fringe). Then the formidable-looking Stephen Amell was cast, taking over the role from Smallville‘s Justin Hartley.

CW’s development head Thom Sherman tells EW.com there will be several other differences as well.

“It’s a very provocative and sophisticated and edgy,” Sherman says of the Arrow pilot. “It’s not as comic book-y as Smallville or other [superhero projects] from other networks.”
So more Nikita than Smallville?

He says the character feel more like more akin to Jason Bourne-type than a superhero who relies on super powers or gadgets. Arrow’s backstory that will be revealed slowly during the first episode.

“He doesn’t have any superpowers, he’s a very grounded character like a Jason Bourne — we use the term ‘mambo,’” Sherman said. “His skill-set is that he’s an archer, but he also have physical strength and prowess. He’s cl

Is that a riff on Man+Rambo? It's a horrid, horrid attempt at a hybrid term. HORRID.

Ewwwwwwwwww...that is awful if that is indeed what he meant by mambo. I really hope they don't use it in the show (if it gets made).

The Borg Queen is Green Arrow's mommy!

Susanna Thompson (Dragonfly) has landed one of the female leads on the CW pilot Arrow. Appropriate surname...
