Mira Sorvino has been cast in BBC America's Intruders. From Deadline (some spoilers in the description):

I’ve learned that Mira Sorvino is set as the female lead opposite John Simm in Intruders, BBC America’s eight-episode original series. Also cast in the drama, based on Michael Marshall Smith’s 2007 novel The Intruders, is James Frain. Written by Glen Morgan, The Intruders is about a secret society devoted to chasing immortality by seeking refuge in the bodies of others. It centers on ex-cop Jack Whalen (Simms) who has escaped a dark, violent past for a seemingly quiet life with his wife, Amy (Sorvino, who will play 2 characters in the same body). When she goes missing, Jack starts an investigation that forces him to confront his past. Frain will play Richards Shepherd, a murderer on a 20-year secret mission who claims to be an FBI agent. Sorvino, repped by ICM Partners, Management 360 and Lichter Grossman, will segue to The Intruders after wrapping her recurring role on TNT’s Falling Skies.
Rick Cosnett and Danielle Panabaker have been cast in The Flash. From Deadline:

Cosnett stars as star Detective Eddie Thawne, a recent transfer to the Central City Police Department, whose past is a mystery and who harbors a dark secret. Panabaker plays Caitlin Snow, a highly intelligent bioengineering expert who lost her fiancé during an explosion at S.T.A.R. Labs.
Kristen Connolly and Kathleen York have been cast in Tin Man. Connolly plays Katie Piper, the public defender who represents the robot accused of murder, while York plays Wendy, a robot that's the idealized version of the perfect wife.

Here's how I see things as they now stand for the SFF shows on the US broadcast networks based on closely following the ratings:

Renewed or highly likely to be renewed

Agents of SHIELD (ABC)
Arrow (CW)
Grimm (NBC)
Once Upon a Time (ABC)
The Originals (CW)
Person of Interest (CBS)
Sleepy Hollow (Fox)
Supernatural (CW)
Under the Dome (CBS; summer series)
The Vampire Diaries (CW)

On the bubble (50/50 shot at renewal)

Almost Human (Fox)
Revolution (NBC)
The Tomorrow People (CW)

Highly likely to be cancelled

Beauty and the Beast (CW)
Dracula (NBC)
Intelligence (CBS)
Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (ABC - sometimes billed as a limited series, but the intention was for it to continue had the ratings been good enough)

Haven't aired yet

The 100 (CW)
Believe (NBC)
Resurrection (ABC)
Star-Crossed (CW)

Note: edited for clarity

Damn, I watch and enjoy all of those on the bubble shows and endangered shows, excepet Beauty and the Beat. The only one I wouldn't miss is OUaTiW, it's been good but not anything really noteworthy. I've only watched the first couple Intelligence episodes, but I enjoyed them both quite a bit.

Wait a minute... A robot named Adam is on trial for the murder of his creator whose name is Charles? That's Eando Binder's "I, Robot." Or, rather, the Outer Limits adaptation thereof, since there was no trial in the original story. Both versions of the Outer Limits adaptation, in the original and revival series, focused on the defense attorney as the main character.

It sounds like this is an adaptation of "I, Robot," but I can't find any articles stating that this is based on the work of Binder or Outer Limits screenwriter Robert C. Dennis, who added the trial element and the attorney character. Hopefully that's just an oversight on the part of the press.
Yeah, I seem to remember this news item coming up before and there being no mention of Adam Link. I wonder if Otto Binder has an estate.

It's just a rumor for now, but Latino Review is saying that Neill Blomkamp will direct the pilot for Halo, which will be the flagship series for the Xbox One TV service. Blomkamp was attached to a Halo movie some years ago, but that project fell apart.

I think it's either a board game or a cop show that starred Damien Lewis.

It's some sort of computer simulation they're working on at MIT. There's still a few bugs in it. In fact, so far there's nothing but bugs in it.

Re: sf/f TV development news - 2013

The CW has ordered iZombie to pilot. From Deadline:

One of the most buzzed about projects at the CW this season, Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero’s drama adaptation of DC‘s iZombie, also has received an official pilot green light. Written by Thomas and Ruggiero based on the characters created by Chris Roberson and Michael Allred and published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint,. iZombie, from Warner Bros TV and Rob Thomas Prods, is a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity, but with each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories. With the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head. Thomas and Rugierro are executive producing with Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge. This marks the fourth order for DC and WBTV this season, joining series Gotham at Fox and pilots Constantine at NBC and The Flash at the CW. Zombies are hot TV commodity at the moment with AMC’s mega hit The Walking Dead, NBC pilot Babylon Fields, a remake of the hit French drama The Returned at A&E, and ABC’s midseason series Resurrection.
