Not sure, guess it didn't catch FIRE.

Did it disappear? I swore I was on it earlier today, but now I don't see it.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

And Detective Rosalind is on the case!

It probably disappeared in a data hiccough, as these gadgets are prone to do. You'd be better off reading a proper book.

Hmmm, am I the only one sensing a anti-ebook conspiracy here?

Maybe someone had a Nook & was feeling left out of the conversation.

That or the other possibility that there was a failure in a data path transfer subroutine & the computer saw that as a potential threat of the thread somehow causing a feed back loop which in turn would initiate the self destruct mechanism, which would be bad.

"Um, no."

It just seems odd that the one new thread dealing with eBook readers and eBooks would be lost.

And if it had been a different thread that had randomly disappeared, someone whose interests were addressed in it might think it was odd that that particular thread was lost. It's called the look-elsewhere effect. Given a large enough sample size, what looks significant may actually be just random chance. There are a lot of threads here, and if a glitch is going to make a thread disappear, it's as likely to be that one as any other.

And of course, a single thread disappearing isn't significant at all by any objective measure. If there were a pattern of threads on a particular subject disappearing, that could arguably be significant. But a single data point does not suggest a pattern.
