This all sound very interesting, and in a few days I'm going to have to find the time to dig into it. Promising.

In terms of size, Europa is the forth largest satellite.

1st trailer Europa Report

first trailer for the science-fiction film "Europa Report" has been launched onto the Internet, and it just might be the most realistic — and harrowing — depiction of space travel on the big screen in years.
1:50 length 1080p trailer here:

i just skimmed it. i don't want to ruin the film for me.
I'll go over a friend's house and pay for VOD in late June.

Excellent trailer. Between this, Gravity, and Elysium, I'm really excited about this year's science-fiction films.

Three somewhat serious-minded SF films in the same year, and I swear to you I'm going to actually see them in the theater. That hasn't happened since, what, 1982?

2009 wasn't so bad. Moon, District 9, Splice, and a couple of decent blockbusters which I know you hate.

Trailer looks fantastic, but I feel like we've been down this road before, on Apollo 18. Hope I'm wrong, since I'd like to see this sort of sci-fi flick, with it's ultra-realistic spin on things, take off (ha ha).

These are guesses, but I'm putting them in spoiler tags, so *warning*:

Much of that trailer looks like a blatant rip off of 2010 crossed with the Blair Witch Project as others have said. Is there a meaningful subtext or is it just another horror flick set in a space context?

The first minute and a half looks great. Then there's an awful lot of screaming. It's like they started out with 2001, realized it would never fly with the contemporary audience and turned it into Alien. We'll see....
