I have a hard time dropping titles. I look at my comic boxes and I see runs that I should have dropped a long time ago and yet, there are issue after unsatisfying issue in my possession.....
That kind of thinking is what both DC and Marvel count on, unfortunately. Glad to know you're starting to kick the habit.
Hell, it's what movie studios, television networks, etc. count on, too!

While I've never been one to buy something I do not enjoy, I do dislike dropping books in the middle of a storyline. That and the promise of a new creative team are my kryptonite. I bought Teen Titans for well over a year, despite not really enjoying it, because every time I decided I was going to drop it, I heard a new creative team was coming on and I stayed, hopeful that it would get better.

What gets me are the people who buy a book they know they hate. I don't understand spending my money on something I hate, even if I derive enjoyment over hating it. Case in point, Countdown, which I dropped early on. Others continued and spent over a $100 on something they claimed to hate. Between the various sites which post scans and the websites which slammed it in the reviews, I got all of the enjoyment I needed to out of hating it for free (minus the 7 or so issues I bought at the beginning).
Yeah, that get me also.
I've enjoyed the IDW Transformers series. It just ended with a big Death of Optimus Prime story. From the one title they are spinning out TWO titles each dealing with how two separtely led factions of Autobots and Cybertronians are going to deal with it. As much as I like other TF characters a TF book without Prime isn't something I want, let alone TWO so I'm not getting them.
Same principal for Thunderbolts that I mentioned in the Marvel thread. That's 3 titles dropped and I'll replace one with Dynamite's Robocop mini so for now I'm going to have $8 extra bucks!!!

That is a very flawed opinion especially since the 2 new writers on the TF comics are better than even Furman himself.

It's either interesting or laziness. Maybe Interlac got revamped, too?

It does remind me of the Reach's language in Blue Beetle, where the Scarab started talking in language like that and as the series went on, it began to resemble English more and more, until the end of Rogers' run, when Jaime could fully understand it (and so could we).

Legion is supposed to be untouched and I think I've seen Interlac in Secret Origin, so I doubt it.

When did I comment on my concern over the writer? I noted it was the characters, Prime specifically, I was interested in. There is no flaw in my preference as stated. You didn't understand my post it seems.

As to the nuDCU strange alien alphabet code popping up that is interesting and should be something to follow. Hopefully it turns out to be worth finding out about...in the first big mega nuDCU crossover event!!! Buy 'em all.

Interlac sort of annoys me. Why even bother with a fake language if it's just going to be a substitution code? I mean, I understand nonsense symbols--that requires no effort--and I understand being a total Tolkein/Okuda level dork and making your own language--that actually works and provides super-nerds something to do--but I don't understand simple substitution for English, which has some of the effort and none of the reward.

Re: DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

Last night
Animal Man #5 - The Rot is a very persistent foe/entity that like it's name implies is spreading. They are really after Buddy's 8yr old daughter Maxine, still, and insist she has untold power of which she is unaware and they want to harness it. They trick her into aiding her dad whose in trouble and her interaction causes chaos to which the Baker family flees with Buddy's last words of the issue being, "Only the Swamp Thing can help us now."

I still can't say I'm sold on Buddy and Animal Man or maybe this is just an odd first solo exposure to the character. I admit I picked it up cause I wanted to try Animal Man out as a solo book. No crossovers or universe shattering events getting in the way. However, I still don't feel I'm getting to know Buddy. I keep reading cause it's evident it's going to tie into Swamp Thing, a character and book I do really like. Made very clear on the last page. I have Swamp Thing #5 to read as well.

Comics used to be read primarily by younger children. Simple substitution ciphers are the first type of "code" that most kids play around with, so they think it's cool.

Of course not. Doesn't mean I have to buy the issues till he returns though.
Which even if it's only a 6 ish arc in both books that's 12x$3 I'm saving or not spending on comics anyway. I'm guessing it'll be a bit longer in each though.

Actually Prime didn't even die in that issue.

It was more about the death of the Prime persona.
