Batwoman #4: This is by far the darkest and edgiest of the Bat Family books. The art is just amazing and oh boy it looks like Flamebird is in a bad bad way. Interesting juxtaposition of Bette's fight with the brute and Maggie and Kate's sex scenes. This book would probably have a MAX label on it if it was a Marvel book. Not sure how much I'll be continuing to following this one. I admit that I have been getting it mostly for J.H. Williams amazing art.
I've stopped getting this not because it isn't brilliant - it is - but because the art and lay-outs are too brilliant for Comixology. In the absence of a comic shop near me, I'm trade-waiting.

I keep forgetting to pick up Batman and Robin - I liked the first issue well enough (although not so much as Morrison's run).

Captain Atom is just boring even with an appearance by Flash, and well at least they didnt fight in that issue.
I haven't read Captain Atom, but was interested by the tiny little nod to the title in Flash #3. It's great to see little things from one title sneaking into another title.
I like Captain Atom and in the 90s really enjoyed his mini-series as he chased Monarch around. Thought he had a good animated presence especially in the most recent project I saw of Superman/Batman: Public Enemies. Wasn't a fan of his whole redesign when he jumped over to the Wildstorm Universe a few years back. Now when it came time do draw my line at series I had to opt out of Captain Atom. Waiting on a trade but what I've read about the title thus far gives off a lackluster vibe. Is that a fair interpretation by those reading the title?

Hmmmm... In MISTER TERRIFIC #4 Mister Terrific says the only alien he's ever met is Superman. I wonder what this means in regards to the Karen Star that's been appearing in the book? I don't think she's exhibited any signs of superpowers yet either.

Not sure of the point of keeping her around if she's not Power Girl anymore though.

Yes Captain Craig lackluster really does sum up Captain Atom so far. Four issues in and no villians to speak of and really just a lack of heart to the character. Back in '87 I really liked Captain Atom when he was reintroduced but this current version is just lacking something.

Bit of advice outside of TT, JT Krul hasn't written anything of note. And that includes GA and CA.

I think DC confirmed in the summer time that Karen does not have any powers and no longer has any relationship to Superman.

Re: DC's New 52: Reviews and Discussion (Spoilers welcolme and likely)

Sat down and read Animal Man #4 from last week and Resurrection Man #4 from this week.

Animal Man #4 is no longer just making overtures that it relates to Swamp Thing. It was stated that Swampy could help Buddy so the crossover is forthcoming. I'm still unsure if this was the best intro for the character, for me, but I'm going to finish this arc. We jumped right into crazy town and I would've preferred more solo action without the little girl in tow. A chance to see Buddy as a hero.

Resurrection Man #4 sees the return of the "debt collector" angel from issue 1&2 whose name I'm drawing a blank right now. I am enjoying the afterlife connections. Director Hooker? The guy who hired the Body Doubles is someone I need to wiki, never heard of him and his decomposing face. The TransHuman? Claims he fought the Batman, need to wiki that also.

I haven't been following this title. Is it possible that it takes place on Earth 2 and the Superman he's met is not the same Superman who appears in the other titles?

Based only on what I've read here, it seems like there is a Power Girl origin story coming up?

DiDio stated in the summer time that we would not see Karen with powers. As far as we know all the 52 take place in the same universe.

They need to get rid of Power Girl, but it's okay to keep five Robins, four Flashes, and I don't know how many Earth-based Green Lanterns?

Yep another decision I didn't like...along with demoting Dick Grayson back to Nightwing. Absolutely no reason there can't be two Batmen or two Batgirls for that matter where Steph is concerned.

^ The only Flash there is in the New 52 is Barry Allen. Wally West and Jay Garrick are currently MIA (although, it is very unlikely Jay ever existed this time around considering superheroes are "new").

Unless you count Bart Allen, but he was never Flash in the New 52.

Personally, Power Girl is a dumb character. There, I said it. She is completely redundant and efforts to make her different from Supergirl are forgettable and just muddles up an already confusing character. I only think the reason they kept her around was so horny writers/artists could draw her boobs and tell boob jokes.

Her origin/s are convoluted but I've always liked Karen...aside from her looks. I was really enjoying her ongoing book before the New 52. *Shrugs*

The Grey/Palmiotti/Conner run on POWER GIRL was a ton of fun.

Frankenstein Agent of Shade #4 - The first arc has wrapped and I really enjoyed it. A great line referencing Aquaman and another I'm quite sure a mocking homage to the Colossus/Wolverine "fastball special". One of the better books out of the gate in the nu52 imo. It may have some commercial accolades but that want save it for long. If you like "monster" books but for some reason opted out, give it a try. Now next issue begins the OMAC crossover, my first one of the nuDCU and I'm not reading OMAC so I'll have to be happy with 1/2 a story I guess.
