why not broadcast it - can't be worse that some of the other stuff they've got under under the "syfy original movie banner".

perhaps they could even replace a few repeats of something.

Syfy original movies actually make money. BSG's been a money losing franchise for years.

So... if it became a web series... how do we as fans give it enough oomf to make SyFy see this should be made into a regular series? The word 'ratings' never really comes to mind, although do we replace that with 'number of views/downloads'?

syfy will probably find a way to ensure that few as people as possible watch it so details of it's release will be buried and anyone outside of the U.S will givet a message it's not viewable in their location.

I might not hurt Syfy's image much, but it could easily damage Galactica's.

nah, he's have to also be making pastry in a Quantum Kitchen too. That said, it doesn't surprise me as they also probably looked at the cost of promotion, etc and don't want to pony up the cash for anything.

If the SyFy Execs hate it, it's probably good. they don't have a good track record; as greenlighting and going whole hog promotion wise on that god-awful version of Flash Gordon staring Ming the Middle mangement goon demonstrated.

That said:

- With their Anime block gone, and Eureka cancelled after next season - it just means there's niothing I care to watch on yje failed SyFy channel.

Someone should change the title of this thread as it is blatantly untrue.

[QUOTE=Noname Given;5188538][QUOTE=SG-

The irony is that they started AniMondays just as Adult Swim's anime block dried up, around ~2007ish. Granted this was become the anime industry collapsed during that year.

But it was funny that at the same time, Scifi Channel was premiering new anime....high-profile stuff like Gurren Lagann, Gundam 00, and even overlooked gem Now & Then, Here & There. Okay it wasn't on every night like Adult Swim, but then again AS wasn't always on every day; Scifi now had one night a week where they'd run double-premieres of half-hour shows. Yes the first year of Animonday was laughably bad, and their second hour (after midnight) was usually boring and awful rejects from the Manga Entertainment library....but they really stepped up that second year.

The point is that just as Adult Swim was getting fan criticism for not really airing much anime anymore, Scifi Channel popped up with the kinds of shows that SHOULD have been airing on AS: Gurren Lagann and the newest Gundam.

It was a major embarrassment for Adult Swim. More than once, they ran bumper message cards sarcastically quipping about how they felt upstaged.

But things really came full circle: now Skiffy has lost all its anime, and while Adult Swim will never be back to the glory days of say, 2004, now they've got "Durarara!!" which is the kind of show that I'd tonally expect back from the "good ol' days" of 2004.

....admittedly, it wasn't really their fault; the anime industry is having major problems and cannot afford to run as much on TV (anime usually gets such low ratings that the licensor actually splits the difference with Adult Swim; they're like long infomercials for the DVDs).

They've got Durarara!! and "Bleach" does pay the bills (I understand its popular, I just lost interest).

The acquisition of Kekaishi last year was a disaster though; instantly forgettable.

But hey, they've got two new premiering anime, and I usually think its "fair" to have two, at most three new airing anime series.

My complaint is that they don't have enough weekday reruns. Time was when they had great reruns from 12 am to 2 am, now its not even worth it.

ack: the time limit for editing the thread title has passed.

Can a moderator change it to "Scifi demotes Blood & Chrome back to webisodes?" -- with "demotes" spelled correctly and a question mark at the end.

Better yet, change it to "Syfy considers demoting Blood & Chrome back to webisodes".

That would seem an odd edit to make, since it's still not the truth...

It'll just show up on YouTube the following day like the other webisodes did.

Sell it like they did Enterprise at first. If you'll recall, "Star Trek" was not in the title sequence for the first season or two.

Just advertise it as "Blood & Chrome", with the dashing, young "Husker" fighting a "robot menace" , put some eye-candy on his arm and bobs-your-uncle, you bring in a few folks that might otherwise avoid BSG.
