Never did much for me, even in 1980. Thumbs down.

I wonder what Voyager and Trek fandom would have been like if she played Janeway. Can't let the thread go without bringing that up.

I'm sure it didn't help that she was always bra-less in that show!

Helped me, though.

And I shall respond with: "At least I'd be able to understand why people would think 'Janeway is hot', since, unlike Kate Mulgrew, even today Erin Gray would actually have a figure hiding under her uniform."

I haven't read a Voyager novel in years, they killed off Janeway in the books?!

Seems backward to most books of franchises where they bring back a character killed on the show/movie. Kirk, Sisko, Connor all spring to mind of characters in Trek resurrected for novels.

boy howdy. she got assimilated by the Borg - sucked into a wall and assimilated by a Cube that had no drones - and became a new Queen. She subsequently - as the Queen - led an attack on Earth, during which the Cube absorbed Pluto (no need to worry if it's a planet or not anymore!) and then absorbed the Doomsday Machine.

Her corporeal existence was terminated when she managed to reassert her personality and allowed Seven to destroy the Cube. a subsequent scene with the female Q showed her being taken to 'another place'.

This was in the TNG novel Before Dishonour by Peter David. A lot of people - particularly the Militant Janeway fans from the VGR forum hate it without even having read it, whilst a lot of people who have read it also hate it.

personally, i think it's a great book.

Dude, I'm just happy to read "Janeway" and "Dead" in the same sentence and related to each other.

*waits defiantly for the MJF with a Louisville Slugger

WOW!!!!
Thanks for the summary!
Voyager was also the only Trek show I bailed on, after S4. Came back for a few spotty guest or hyped episodes but really only "came back" about 7-8 episodes till the shows finale and also feel like I hadn't missed much.

I actually feel more upset about Pluto.

I thought it was dumb that those novels forever brought back the Borg, over and over. That's why I gave up on the novels. My son picked up the Starfleet Academy books with the new timeline and guess what? The Borg are in the second novel! For Pete's Sake: NO MORE BORG!!!

Hint for the next BOTW (no direct answers):
