Tokyo 2020 Olympics

http://www.cn.com/2013/09/07/sport/world-olympics-2020/

Congratulations to Tokyo on winning the bid to host the summer Olympic games seven years from now. I don't understand why some people constantly bring up Fukushima and say the Olympic games will be impacted by radiation. *Insert lame Godzilla joke here*

This will be the city's first time in this century, and since 1964, to play host to the summer games.

Re: Tokyo 2020 Olympics

I'm not suprised that Tokyo won, With London hosting the games in 2012 I didn't think they would be awarded to another European city so soon. Which left Istanbul and Tokyo.

(Neo-)Tokyo being the site of the 2020 Olympics was correctly predicted in Akira btw.

Re: Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Think it'll be attempted to be boycotted by anti-Nuclear groups?
Seems like the National Olympic Stadium was given the funding in February to upgrade the facility if they got 2020 or not... sounds like the bet paid off.
There are some very cool venues in the proposed schedule. It should look amazing there.

Amen to the Akira thing.
