Hmm.

Good thing lurok posted this thread. I find it highly illogical to notify those in the Voyager TV series forum when Janeway is dead only in literature and not in the TV series.

Heheh...

That being said, all I can hope for is a degree of sanity to previal and Janeway to remain dead. I thought "Before Dishonor" was a terrible book, but Beyer's Voyager books (I am currently reading her latest) have been nothing short of excellent. At the moment, I actually like them more than most recent DS9, and considering my loathing for VOY TV series, that is saying a lot.

Janeway is dead. I don't care if it is scifi. Leave her dead. Leave Data dead. Leave Spock Prime post-Romulus in the Abramsverse. Let death have consequences in the ST universe *other than* reanimation.

There were not many people in the Voyager continuation panel room last year at Shore Leave (I was there, and Christopher was, and maybe 1-2 others) so maybe this will drum up interest.

Janeway's visit with the Q and absence from the novels (she isn't dead, you know) has certainly brought more attention to the novels. Now that we have a good Voy writer, time to bring her and Tuvok back. Go, Kirsten.

Completely agree, which is why I hope the audience appreciates that she has a young daughter who wants to see Mommy again.

To me Riker, Troi, Vale, and Tuvok are the Kirk, Spock, and McCoy of Titan, and if any of them were pulled from the series I would be furious.

Tuvok is so much more interesting on Titan than he was on Voyager. Even on the show, I felt like he never developed into the mentor figure for Janeway he was supposed to be, and never really had chemistry with anyone else either. He has a real place in the morality balancing act of Troi's heart, Vale's drive, and Tuvok's logic playing around Riker's open-mindedness and optimism. He's crucial there; he was the guy at the party that no one can remember inviting sitting awkwardly in the corner talking to no one on Voyager.

Thanks for the link, lurok. I figured most of the folks who would be interested in this spend more time in the Voyager forum than the lit forum...as most of them have boycotted my books for awhile now. No slight intended to the readers here, or evidence of any interest in my part in burying the subject where no one who cares about the issue would think to look for it.

And thanks for the prayers and the kind words.

You guys are, as usual, made of awesome.

I would love to come but I live way too far.
And besides I don't think Janeway is absolutely necessary anymore.
The main problem with Voyager before Kirsten Beyer took the series was that the story went nowhere. There was no purpose.
But now Voyager is back where it belongs, and we have a strong, interesting story.
Janeway can come back or not, for me that is not the real issue, as long as the books have the quality of the 3 last ones.
Write more Kirsten, I for one will read what will come out with great pleasure.
