It's ok if this sucks, it doesn't have Pixar's name on it

That looks so AWFUL. Didn't Disney say they were done with making cheap direct to dvd sequels? I can't believe Pixar went along with this...
Just wait for the cheap direct to DVD sequels of Avengers or Star Wars. They WILL come.
They happened a long time ago anyway.

Which, along with its sequel was actually a theatrical release in a lot of countries other than the US. And weren't they on tv in the US?

Somewhere in the Cars/Planes 'verse is a thrilling and mind-blowing story about the rise of machine intelligence and the fall of the organic life-forms that originally gave birth to the living machines.

I seriously doubt we will ever see such a film released by Disney.

Probably so. I would imagine they'd rather skip the hassle of a lawsuit from Harlan Ellison.

That looks cute! I hope it turns out to be very good. I will, of course, give it a chance, as I love Pixar and still consider them to be the gold standard.

^Not Pixar. It's DisneyToon Studios. Regardless, Lasseter is still one of the producers.

Disney has already scheduled the sequel, PLANES: FIRE & RESCUE, for 7/18/14

Ah, okay. Well, I just hope it will be good. Even though it's not Pixar, John Lasseter is still attached to it, and I love that guy.

Planes 3 in 2015 and Cars 3 in 2016?

Might as well, the toys are massive sellers.

for something that started out as a d2DVD movie, Disney seem to be very confident.
